Tinubu-Led Government Claims It Traced N83billion Funds To Sponsors of #EndBadGovernance Protests
This is as the government said on Tuesday that it traced at least alleged N83billion in cryptocurrency and fiat money channelled towards the recent nationwide protests.

This is as the government said on Tuesday that it traced at least alleged N83billion in cryptocurrency and fiat money channelled towards the recent nationwide protests.
They include $50million of cryptocurrency, $38m of which were blocked in four cryptocurrency wallets and N4billion contributed by various political actors in Abuja, Kano, Kaduna and Katsina.
The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, presented the development at the inaugural meeting of the Council of State convened by President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja.
“In his presentation, the NSA said the government was able to trace $50m to crypto wallets that were made as donations to the protests. They succeeded in blocking four of those wallets containing $38million. .
“They also found out that some political actors contributed N4billion to fund the protests,” the sources noted.
It would be recalled that the #EndBadGovernance protests were held in different parts of the country from August 1 to 10.
The protests were greeted with government brutality and clampdown on unarmed protesters. Different stakeholders have condemned the action of the government including killing of many protesters which it has failed to address.
The protests demanded an end to bad governance, cut in rising inflation including food and general inflation.
